O Filho de Deus // Son of God

Hello guys, tonight I watched "Son of God" and I was super excited coming home! It is so good to see Jesus, even when it is not himself! haahha seriously, I could only think, oh, Jesus, look what you did because you love ME!

But what I really wanted to say is that I had a huge desire to stand up in the end of the movie, fill up my lungs with air and preach the gospel, but the room was very empty, and I was enjoying the final music that goes with the credits, oh, and of course, I'm too shy to do these crazy things... ;/

Então eu vou me expressar aqui!
So I will express myself here! The movie "Son of God", directed by Christopher Spencer is very good! It's very faithful to the Bible, even though some things are in the wrong order and A LOT is left out (after all, if they put all the deeds of Jesus, the movie would last an eternity!). But if I could change one thing in the movie, I'd add in the end a recap of Jesus saying John 3:16 >> For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

It's very worth watching, to remember and thank Jesus for all that he's done for us!
filho-de-deus-01

Ideas I had (and that I want to put into practice): fill a room with people, invite random people in the mall to watch the movie (and of course, pay for their tickets) and in the end of the movie, someone gets up, preaches the gospel, saves lives and afterwards we go consolidate them. 2- Put a huge screen at my church's parking lot and exhibit the movie for anyone who wants to watch!

If you already watched it, tell us how did you like it in the comments!

Senhor e Salvador | Lord and Savior

You've probably heard the old saying: "receive Jesus as Lord and Savior" or at least, you heard someone calling Jesus as "Lord", but, do you think they are speaking the truth? Do they really have Jesus as Lord of their lives?

I don't even remember when I received Jesus as my Savior, but I'm very sure of when he became my Lord. It was in 2010, when I did my DTS and began a personal relationship with him and gave him all control over my life. It was when my life changed and I started to understand what the Bible means by "abundant life".

Did you know that Jesus is called Lord 747 times and 24 times Savior on the New Testament? The Bible emphasizes the concept of Jesus being the Lord and not only the Savior.

Lord means master, the one who calls the shots, the one who makes decisions.

Confessing Jesus as Lord implies in submitting to him in all areas of our lives. He's either Lord of all or he's not Lord at all.

Romanos 10:9
"Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved". Romans 10:9

Pra gente acordar!

Meu biscoito japonês preferido | My favorite Japanese cookie

This cookie exists in Brazil too, but it is too good for me not to mention it here! It is in a koala shape, with a koala drawing... I just read it here, in Japanese, that the name is Koara no Maachi. Outside, the cookie shell and inside, a chocolate filling. If you've never tried it before, run to the Japanese market now and treat yourself!

Ela lhe faz o bem e não o mal | She brings him good, not harm.

This post is dedicated to all women, married or single, that look forward into becoming like the wife of noble character of Proverbs 31.

Mulher virtuosa, quem a achará?
Who can find a virtuous and capable woman?
She is more precious than rubies.

I've been married for only a year and 9 months, so I have no authority to speak about how to be a good wife or things like that, I still have lots of things to learn. Therefore, the Lord has taught me something very important in this passage while I was still single. Verse 12 says:

Ela lhe faz o bem e não o mal, TODOS OS DIAS da sua vida.
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

Notice that the passage doesn't say: "All the days she's with him"; "All the days after 20 years old" and definitely not "All the days she wants to". No! The Bible is very clear when it says that it's all the days of your life! Since you are born till you die!

Do you know what that means? It means that the wife of noble character brings him good even when she doesn't know him!

Many people may ask: How can I bring good to someone I don't even know? The answer is very simple: taking care of yourself!

The Lord has a wonderful prince chosen especially for each one of us and of course this guy wants the best of us, in all of our purity, he'll want a complete lady, without any little mark that another guy may have done in your body or your heart. He'll want a woman that is not too easy with anyone, a woman that will be faithful to him, a woman that has her heart surrendered to Jesus.

You can also pray daily for your future husband, asking God to work both in him and you during this time of 'separation'. There are so many ways to honor your future husband! Make him feel like he's the most special man on earth! Don't give yourself to anyone, thinking that 'It might be him", wait from the direction of the Lord, cause he will take you to the right man, even if you have to cross oceans to find him.

Ela lhe faz o bem e não o mal, TODOS OS DIAS da sua vida.
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

May you bring good to your husband everyday of your life, whether you are with him already or not! :)

"Konbini" is the Japanese way to abbreviate the word "convenience store". These stores, such as Lawson, 7 Eleven, and others that I forgot the name, are EVERYWHERE in Japan. No exaggeration, it may exist one in each block!

Nesses lugares, você pode:
- Pagar contas
- Sacar dinheiro e coisas afim (ATM)
- Fazer cópias e escanear coisas
- Comprar café (que faz na hora)
- Ir ao banheiro
- Comprar revistas, bentô (almoço), produto de limpeza, doces, produtos de papelaria, bebidas, comidas, produtos de beleza, produtos de higiene, congelados, sorvetes, de TUDO!
In these places you can:
- Pay bills
- Get money out and things like that (ATM)
- Make copies and scan things
- Buy coffee (that is made at the time you order)
- Go to the bathroom
- Buy magazines, bento (lunch), cleaning supplies, candy, stationery stuff, drinks, foods, beauty products, hygiene products, frozen foods, ice cream, EVERYTHING!

It's a paradise Japanese style! It's very fun to go into a Konbini and just look at all that they have! Oh, and these shops are open 24/7!

It took me a lecture on Personal Marketing to find out the obvious: people like to be treated as individuals.
Oh, and I also had to put that into practice to notice that in the Kingdom of God the same thing happens!

Two Sundays ago, me and Jesse were responsible for the reception at my church. A boy that I've never seem there arrived. We said hello and a little bit later, instead of being in his chair, he was wandering around.

Jesse went to talk to him, introduce himself and stuff. They talked for a while, until time for us to leave the reception and go to 'our place'. Jesse invited him to come, but he didn't want to. So I told Jesse to go back there and stay with him during worship. When the sermon started, they came and sat next to me.

After the service, Jesse kept talking to him and we invited him to come to an event at church on the next Saturday (from 9h to 17h!)

To our surprise, he really showed up! Jesse was sitting with him.

I was already super happy! Only because we gave him attention and talked to him individually, the boy had gone to church again and I imagine he had recommitted his life to Jesus (don't know for sure, cause Jesse got confused with the Portuguese and I wasn't there haahah)

And as if that hadn't been enough for our happiness, the next day, he went to church and went straight to sit with us :)

It may seem like a simple story, but the feeling of satisfaction that we had was so big we can't explain! It was a great joy that could only have come from Jesus! This Sunday, when I saw him arrive, I wanted to cry for happiness!

If we only noticed the different people at our church, we wouldn't have room for any more! How many lives could be changed if we only decided to get out of our comfort zone and to talk to each ONE, the way they deserve to be treated, like Jesus taught us?

Remember: people go to church after something. Why don't we give them more of Jesus? :D

Kairo

No Japão faz muuuuuuito frio!
It gets reaaaaaaally cold in Japan! And the houses don't have central heating (true!). But it's so cold it hurts, specially with the cold wind!
But of course they have their way of getting warm. One of the things I found the most interesting is this "Kairo", that is a sack with volcanic rocks that you rub and it gets warm for hours! This version (with terrible pics) is a pocket one, but you can also find Kairo with adhesive to put on your clothes and there's also an electronic one.
Interesting, right?

"Estamos em maior número" | "There are more on our side"

Eles chegaram à noite e cercaram a cidade.
Surpreso, viu cavalos e carros cercando a cidade.

2 Reis 6:13-17

The king said, “Go and find out where he is. I’ll send someone and capture him.”
The report came back, “He’s in Dothan.”
Then he dispatched horses and chariots, an impressive fighting force. They came by night and surrounded the city.
Early in the morning a servant of the Holy Man got up and went out. Surprise! Horses and chariots surrounding the city! The young man exclaimed, “Oh, master! What shall we do?”
He said, “Don’t worry about it—there are more on our side than on their side.”
Then Elisha prayed, “O God, open his eyes and let him see.”
The eyes of the young man were opened and he saw. A wonder! The whole mountainside full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha!

2 Kings 6:13-17

Today I was reading this passage on the Bible and I was in awe of God! Many times we can't see what's happening in the Spiritual realm, but we can be sure that the angels of the Lord are around us, taking care of us.
May you have the courage to face any giant that may appear in your life, because the Lord is with you, he's guarding you even when you can't see!
