Eu nem gosto de política, nem entendo nada mas uma coisa é certa: Deus tem colocado essa questão no meu coração e me chamado a orar. Diversas vezes, enquanto leio a Bíblia, encontro versos que me fazem parar pra pensar e orar por um só assunto: a política no Brasil.

I don't even like politics, I don't understand anything about it, but I know one thing: God has put this matter on my heart and has called me to pray. Many times, as I read my Bible, I find verses that make me stop and think and pray for only one subject: the Brazilian politics.

Nessa história, a situação era a seguinte: Moisés julgava todas as causas do povo, atendia uma fila enorme de israelitas, de manhã até a noite. Um dia, o sogro dele, Jetro, perguntou por que Moisés estava fazendo isso e sugeriu que ele dividisse o povo em grupos de mil, de cem, de cinquenta e de dez pessoas e colocasse líderes para resolver as suas questões. E as condições para escolher esses homens eram as seguintes: "Escolha a homens competentes, que temam a Deus e sejam íntegros, incorruptíveis." (Êxodo 18:21 - A Mensagem)

In this story, the situation was that Moses was judging all the matters of the people, he took care of all the israelites, from morning till night. One day, his father in law Jetro, asked him why he was doing that and he suggested that Moses divide the population in groups of a thousand, hundreds, fifty and ten people and put leaders to solve their matters. And the conditions to choose these matters were the following: "Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe" (Exodus 18:21 - The Message)

Esse ano, teremos as eleições presidenciais no Brasil. Vamos escolher homens e mulheres para liderarem o Brasil de acordo com o que a Palavra de Deus diz. São apenas 4 coisas que se forem observadas, podem mudar o rumo da nossa nação! É claro que só Deus sabe quem é competente, quem teme a Ele, quem é íntegro e incorruptível. E como só Deus sabe, por que não perguntamos a Ele em quem deveremos votar?

This year, we'll have the presidential elections in Brazil. Let's choose men and women to lead Brazil according to what the Word of God says. There are only 4 things to be observed, that can change the story of our nation! Of course, only God knows who is able, who fear Him, who is trustworthy and hates a bribe (incorruptible - in my Bible in Portuguese). And since only God knows, why don't we ask him in whom should we vote?

Oi gente, tudo bem por aí?

Hoje eu vim contar um 'causo' pra vocês, porque é algo que eu jamais imaginava que poderia acontecer em qualquer lugar do mundo, mas no Japão, acontece.
Hey guys, everything good?
Today I came to tell you a story, because it is something I never thought that could happen in any place in the world, but in Japan, it happens.

Um belo domingo, eu e o Jesse saímos de Tsukuba e seguimos direção sul para Kawasaki. No caminho, paramos em Tókio, para ir a igreja. Ao chegar em Tókio, percebemos que o Jesse tinha esquecido a carteira em casa. Mesmo assim, seguimos para o sul, pois passaríamos o final de semana com os meus tios Mahomed e Miyuki.
On a beautiful Sunday, me and Jesse left Tsukuba towards the south to Kawasaki. On the way, we stopped in Tokyo, to go to the church. Arriving in Tokyo, we noticed that Jesse had forgotten his driver's license at home. Still, we kept traveling south, because we would spend the weekend with my uncle Mahomed and aunt Miyuki.

O final de semana foi lindo, cheio de alegria e comidinhas deliciosas. Na hora de voltar para casa, o Jesse dirigia e eu ia de co-piloto, tentando entender o GPS. Chegou uma hora que eu percebi que estávamos tínhamos que mudar de pista, pois a pista em que estávamos só virava e nós precisávamos ir reto. Então o Jesse mudou de pista e logo em seguida, o policial que estava na FRENTE do cruzamento nos mandou parar o carro.
The weekend was beautiful, full of joy and yummy food. On the way back, Jesse was driving and I was the co-pilot, trying to understand the GPS. So, there was a time when I realized that we had to change lanes, because the one that we were on only turned and we had to go straight. So Jesse changed the lane and right after that, the policeman who was in FRONT of the scene told us to stop the car.

Paramos e os policiais nos fizeram um monte de perguntas e com o nosso nível de japonês, não dava nem pra fingir que não entendia e nem pra entender tudo o que eles estavam falando. Só sei que de repente, eles nos pediram para sair do carro e nos revistaram, tudo com muita delicadeza.
We stopped and the policemen asked us many questions and with our level of Japanese, we couldn't pretend that we didn't understand neither understand everything they were saying. But all the sudden, they asked us to get out of the car, and they frisked us, very gently.

No final das contas, a policial nos deixou ir, mas nos pediu que quando chegássemos em casa, mandássemos um fax para ela com a cópia da carteira de motorista e passaporte. Ah, e é claro, nos pediu desculpas por ter nos parado. Chegamos em casa e aguardamos por sua ligação. Ela falou que não precisávamos mais mandar os documentos e só pediu para tomar cuidado e de novo, pediu desculpas.
In the end, the police let us go, but asked that when we get home, we should send a fax to her with a copy of the driver's license and passport. Ah, of course, and said sorry that she had stopped us. We arrived at home and waited for their call. She told us that we didn't need to send the documents and only asked us to take care and again, said sorry.

Ah, que saudades da gentileza japonesa!
Oh, how I miss the Japanese gentleness!

Bom, só pra dar uma informação aos brasileiros: brasileiros não podem dirigir no Japão, nem com carteira internacional! Outros estrangeiros só podem dirigir por um ano, depois precisam pegar a carteira japonesa, que é bem complicada de tirar. É super comum as pessoas fazerem o teste 5, 10 vezes até passar!
Well, just an information to the Brazilians: Brazilians cannot drive in Japan, not even with an international license! Other foreigners can drive for up to a year, and after that, they need to get the Japanese license, that is very hard to get. It is very common to take the test 5, 10 times until they pass.

Hoje eu tive a oportunidade de assistir o documentário "Sex + Money: A National Search for Human Worth" (Sexo + Dinheiro: uma busca nacional pelo valor humano) que trata da escravidão / prostituição / tráfico humano nos Estados Unidos. Eu já tinha colocado o trailler aqui no blog, mas hoje eu pude ver inteirinho! O pessoal que fez esse vídeo é parte do PhotogenX, o ministério no qual eu trabalhei em 2010.

Today I had the opportunity to watch the documentary "Sex + Money: A National search for Human Worth" that is about slavery / prostitution / human trafficking in the United States. I already posted the trailer here in the blog but today I had the chance to see the whole movie! The guys that made this video are part of PhotogenX, the ministry I worked in 2010.

Tem tanta coisa na minha cabeça agora que eu estou simplesmente sem reação. Sem palavras. Com muita vontade de fazer alguma coisa, mas perdida, sem saber o que fazer. Minha vontade é de construir uma casa pra abrigar crianças vítimas, ou até mesmo adultos. Ou talvez virar policial e prender todos os cafetões e 'compradores'. 

There's so much on my mind right now that I have no reaction. Speechless. With a huge desire to do something, but lost, not knowing what to do. My desire is to build a house to host these victims. Or maybe even become a police and arrest all the pimps and buyers.

Vou escrever algumas coisas que marcaram muito sobre o filme, caso você não fale inglês ou não tenha tido tempo de assistir, ok?

I will write about some things that got me during the movie, in case you haven't had time to watch it, ok?

- O filme é sobre os Estados Unidos, onde a prostituição é criminalizada, mas no Brasil, a prostituição é uma atividade profissional reconhecida pelo Ministério do Trabalho desde que não seja praticada por crianças. No filme, eles contam que na Alemanha, antes da prostituição ser legalizada, haviam cerca de 6000 crianças prostitutas, mas dois anos depois da legalização da prostituição, esse número passou a ser 15000.

- The movie is in the United States, where prostitution is a crime, but in Brazil, prostitution is a recognized professional activity as long as it is not children doing it. In the movie, they tell that in Germany, before prostitution was legalized, there were about 6000 child prostitutes, but two years later, this number grew to 15000.

- Eles ressaltam que o tráfico humano é a segunda maior indústria criminalizada do mundo e que enquanto as armas e drogas podem ser vendidas apenas uma vez, as pessoas podem ser vendidas milhares de vezes.

- They highlight that human traffic is the second largest criminal industry in the world that while guns and drugs can be sold only once, people can be sold thousands of times.

- Sobre prostituição infantil, eles falam que uma das causas é a falta de estrutura familiar, que faz com que as crianças fujam de casa e vão pras ruas, onde encontram alguém que promete cuidar delas em troca de 'um favorzinho.'

- About child prostitution, they say that one of the causes is the broken homes, that makes kids run away from home and go to the streets, where they find someone that promises to take care of them in exchange of a 'little favor'.

- Fala-se sobre a prostituição não como uma profissão, mas como exploração. Fala-se da escravidão em que muitas prostitutas se encontram, sem saída. Além disso, também expõe o estupro que acontece tantas vezes durante a prostituição. Sim, é algo tão óbvio, mas ás vezes a gente tá tão ocupado em condenar a prostituta que esquecemos que elas são as vítimas desse sistema de cafetão + prostituta + comprador.

- It talks about the prostitution not as an occupation, but as exploitation. It talks about slavery that many prostitutes are in, with no way out. Also, it exposes the rapes that happen so many times during prostitution. Yes, it's something so obvious, but sometimes we are so worried condemning the prostitute that we forget that they are the victims of this system pimp + prostitute + buyer.

- Mostram imagens de compradores sendo presos! Cara, se você compra uma prostituta, você tá financiando o crime! Essas mulheres passam por aquilo que elas passam só porque tem alguém comprando!! Se liga, meu! Homens de verdade não compram sexo!

- They show images of buyers being arrested! Man, if you buy a prostitute, you are financing the crime! These women only go through what they go through because there's someone buying them!! Wake up! Real men don't buy sex!

- O filme também aborda a questão da pornografia e de como hoje em dia, o acesso á pornografia é fácil demais com o avanço da internet. PAIS, por favor, fiquem atentos ao que os seus filhos estão vendo na internet. O que eles veem hoje pode prejudicar a vida deles lá na frente, pois a maioria das pessoas viciada em pornografia não acha que precisa de ajuda, pelo contrário, eles só vão procurar ajuda quando algo lá na frente desmoronar. Se você já é viciado em pornografia, procure ajuda. Existe uma organização chamada XXXChurch, que é uma organização cristã sem fins lucrativos que visa ajudar as pessoas que tem problema com pornografia.

- The man also talks about pornography and how nowadays, the access to pornography is too easy with the advance of the internet. Parents, please, be aware of that your kids are looking online. What they see today can harm their lives in the future, because most of the people addicted to pornography don't think they need help, instead, they'll only look for help when something important is destroyed. If you are already addicted to pornography, look for help. There's an organization called XXXChurch, which is a non profit Christian organization that aims to help people who struggle with pornography.

- O filme conta como as crianças são alvos fáceis para os cafetões. Eles procuram aqueles que estão mais vulneráveis e os lugares para se encontrar essas crianças são muito fáceis: escolas, shoppings. Pais, as crianças são inocentes e simplesmente acreditam no cara que diz que ela é linda, não dá pra ficar de bobeira!

- The movie tells how the children are easy targets for the pimps. They look for the most vulnerable ones and the places to find them are very easy: schools, shopping mall. Parents, children are innocent and they simply believe on the guy that says she's beautiful, pay attention!

Coisas que eu vou sentir saudades no Japão | Things I will miss in Japan

Sério, eu comecei esse post lá no Japão, mas tinha ficado no rascunho até hoje... então eu resolvi finalizar o post hehehe.
Seriously, I started this post in Japan, but it was a draft until today... so I decided to finish it... hehehe

- Hyaku en shop

É claro que eu não poderia deixar de falar da minha amada lojinha de Hyaku en. Pra falar a verdade, eu nem estou sentindo falta dela... ainda... mas também não precisei comprar nada pra casa, nem pra nada... Além do mais, minha madrinha já me contou que em São Paulo tem uma Daiso que custa R$5,90. Leia mais sobre as Lojas de Hyaku en aqui.
Of course, I couldn't leave my beloved Hyaku En store out of this list. To tell you the truth, I haven't missed it yet, but I also didn't need to buy anything to the house, not even for anything... Besides that, my godmother told me that in São Paulo there's a Daiso that costs R$5,90. Read more about the Hyaku En Store here.

- Drink Bar

Ah, que saudades do drink bar. Eu também já fiz um post sobre os Drink Bars aqui. Era bom demais! Ótimo lugar pra ir, ficar conversando, tomar uma boa bebida e deixar o tempo passar!
Oh... how I miss Drink Bar. I also wrote a post about the Drink Bars here. It was too good to be true. Great place to go, to talk, have a good drink and let the time go by.

- Pessoas sendo gentis e legais o tempo todo | People being nice and gentle the whole time

Noooooooooooossa, essa é a parte que eu MAIS sinto falta! As pessoas do Japão são extremamente bem educadas, legais, gentis o tempo inteiro! Ninguém fica fazendo barulho (tipo ouvir música ruim no último volume hahhah), todo mundo te trata muito bem, todo mundo é bem disposto para te ajudar. Nas lojas, as pessoas são extremamente prestativas e fofinhas! Ah, saudades da boa educação japonesa! Ah, e os policiais pedem desculpas por te parar! Vou contar essa história em breve!
Woooooooooooooooow, this is the part I miss the most! The people in Japan are extremely police, nice and gentle the whole time! No one makes noises (like, listening to bad music super loud hahaha), everybody treats you well, everybody is willing to help. In the stores, the workers are extremely helpful and cute! Ah, how I miss the good Japanese education! Oh, and the police man say sorry if they have to stop you! I will tell this story soon!

- Segurança | Security

O Japão também é um dos países mais seguros do mundo e isso é maravilhoso! É uma liberdade poder andar despreocupado, com a bolsa aberta, deixar as janelas de casa no térreo abertas o dia inteiro... Isso é uma das coisas que eu mais sinto saudades, honestidade é uma coisa maravilhosa!
Japan is also one of the safest countries in the world and that's wonderful! It's such a freedom to walk around without worry, with an open purse, leave the windows at the house wide open (in the first floor).... that's one of the things I miss the most, honesty is such a wonderful thing.

- Preços | Prices

Saudades dos preços no Hyaku En, nas lojas de roupa, em coisas que não sejam comida... hehehe tudo é muito mais barato do que no Brasil! E olha que até que dava pra comprar umas roupinhas bem legais lá, só garimpar (muuuito!). Mas isso na verdade não é uma 'vantagem' japonesa, e sim, um defeito brasileiro... infelizmente...
I miss the prices at Hyaku en, clothing stores, things that aren't food... hehehe everything is much cheaper than Brazil! And I could actually find some really nice clothes there, if I only search well... But actually, that's not a 'Japanese advantage', but a Brazilian weakness... unfortunately...

Minha primeira volta ao mundo! | My first around the world trip

Oi gente, tudo bem?

Agora que já passaram as festividades de Natal e Ano Novo, além das aclamadas férias de Janeiro, acho que estou pronta para começar o ano aqui no blog. Tenho vários posts planejados e espero poder melhorar o blog nesse ano. Todas as sugestões são bem-vindas! :) Aliás, comentários em geral são bem-vindos! hihihi

Now that the festivities of Christmas and New Year are over, also the beautiful summer vacations of January, I think I am ready to start the year here on my blog. I have lots of posts planned and I hope to improve the blog this year. All suggestions are welcomed! :) By the way, comments are always welcome! hihihi (Sorry, my English is getting worst now that I am in Brazil!!)

Bom, hoje eu resolvi que queria postar sobre a minha primeira volta ao mundo!! Que emoção! Demorou um ano e meio, mas afinal de contas, se completou! ;)
Well, today I decided that I wanted to post about my first around the world trip!! What an emotion! It took a year and a half, but after all, it's done! :)

Esse itinerário aí em cima é bem simples, porque na verdade eu viajei um pouquinho mais, né? Então, eu saí do Brasil, fui casar em Belize e logo me mudei para os Estados Unidos. Passados seis meses, fomos para o Japão em um voo que cruzou o Pacífico e depois de 11 meses, voltamos para o Brasil, via Alemanha! YAY!
This itinerary up there is very simple, because in fact, I've traveled a little bit more than that, right? So, I left Brazil, married in Belize and soon moved to the States. After six months, I went to Japan in a flight that crossed the Pacific Ocean and after 11 months, we came back to Brazil, through Germany! YAY

E que essa seja só a primeira viagem volta ao mundo, porque ainda falta muitos lugares para conhecer! :)
And may this only be the first around the world trip, because there are many places that I haven't visited yet! :)

Sem religiosidade | No religiosity

No domingo passado, o pastor Haroldo nos entregou uma palavra ótima! Daquelas que te deixa inquieto, cheio de vontade de fazer alguma coisa para Deus. Mas não foi só isso, foi uma palavra que, mais uma vez, confirmou que Deus não tem interesse em coisas feitas pela religiosidade.
Last Sunday, pastor Haroldo gave us a great message! Like those ones that make you uneasy, full of a desire to do something for God. But it wasn't only that, it was a message that once again, confirmed that God is not interested on things that were done because of the religiosity.

A Bíblia pode explicar muito melhor do que eu, então seguem as passagens, com uma legendinha bem simples. A versão utilizada foi NVI.

Vermelho é para as coisas que Deus não gosta.

Azul é para aquilo que Deus quer que nós façamos.

Verde é para as promessas dEle, se agirmos da maneira que o agrada.
The Bible can explain it much better than I can, so here are the passages, with a very simple 'label'. The version of the Bible is ESV.
Red is for the things that God doesn't like.
Blue is for the things God wants us to do.
Green is for his promises, if we act the way that pleases him.

 “Para que me oferecem tantos sacrifícios?”, pergunta o Senhor. “Para mim, chega de holocaustos de carneiros e da gordura de novilhos gordos. Não tenho nenhum prazer no sangue de novilhos, de cordeiros e de bodes! Quando vocês vêm à minha presença, quem lhes pediu que pusessem os pés em meus átrios? Parem de trazer ofertas inúteis! Meus amados irmãos, tenham isto em mente: Sejam todos prontos para ouvir, tardios para falar e tardios para irar-se, pois a ira do homem não produz a justiça de Deus. Portanto, livrem-se de toda impureza moral e da maldade que prevalece, e aceitem humildemente a palavra implantada em vocês, a qual é poderosa para salvá-los. Sejam praticantes da palavra, e não apenas ouvintes, enganando-se a si mesmos. Aquele que ouve a palavra, mas não a põe em prática, é semelhante a um homem que olha a sua face num espelho e, depois de olhar para si mesmo, sai e logo esquece a sua aparência. Mas o homem que observa atentamente a lei perfeita, que traz a liberdade, e persevera na prática dessa lei, não esquecendo o que ouviu mas praticando-o, será feliz naquilo que fizer. Se alguém se considera religioso, mas não refreia a sua língua, engana-se a si mesmo. Sua religião não tem valor algum! A religião que Deus, o nosso Pai, aceita como pura e imaculada é esta: cuidar dos órfãos e das viúvas em suas dificuldades e não se deixar corromper pelo mundo.

Será esse o jejum que escolhi, que apenas um dia o homem se humilhe, incline a cabeça como o junco e se deite sobre pano de saco e cinzas? É isso que vocês chamam jejum, um dia aceitável ao Senhor? “O jejum que desejo não é este: soltar as correntes da injustiça, desatar as cordas do jugo, pôr em liberdade os oprimidos e romper todo jugo? Não é partilhar sua comida com o faminto, abrigar o pobre desamparado, vestir o nu que você encontrou, e não recusar ajuda ao próximo? Aí sim, a sua luz irromperá como a alvorada, e prontamente surgirá a sua cura; a sua retidão irá adiante de você, e a glória do Senhor estará na sua retaguarda. Aí sim, você clamará ao Senhor, e ele responderá; você gritará por socorro, e ele dirá: Aqui estou. “Se você eliminar do seu meio o jugo opressor, o dedo acusador e a falsidade do falar; se com renúncia própria você beneficiar os famintos e satisfizer o anseio dos aflitos, então a sua luz despontará nas trevas, e a sua noite será como o meio-dia. O Senhor o guiará constantemente; satisfará os seus desejos numa terra ressequida pelo sol e fortalecerá os seus ossos. Você será como um jardim bem regado,como uma fonte cujas águas nunca faltam. Is such the fast that I choose, a day for a person to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the Lord? “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Then shall your light break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up speedily; your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in. “If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly; then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (Isaiah 58:5-14)

Será que eu preciso falar mais alguma coisa?? Deus tem tantas promessas lindas para a nossa vida e ele está pronto para derramá-las sobre nós, assim que a gente decidir obedecer, fazer aquilo que ele nos instrui, sem fazer por religiosidade.
Do I even need to say anything else? God has so many beautiful promises for us and he's ready to pour that over us, as soon as we decide to obey, to do what he instructs us to do, without religiosity.

Eu fiquei pirada com essa mensagem, várias ideias fluindo. Se a gente parar pra pensar, é tão pouco, é tão fácil para nós sairmos da religiosidade e servirmos a Deus verdadeiramente.
I was crazy with that message, lots of ideas flowing from my head. If we stop to think, it's so little, it's so easy for us to get our of religiosity and serve God wholeheartedly.
