Um corte e uma lição para a vida! | A lesson for life

Eis um post que pode te ofender, mas antes de sair por aí resmungando, lembre-se que Jesus morreu pelas pessoas e não pelos animais.

Here's a post that might offend you, but before you complain, remember that Jesus died for people and not for animals.

Quando a minha tia se casou, em 2007, ela e o noivo já tinham a casa montada, então, no lugar de presente de casamento, eles pediram que os convidados fizessem uma doação a uma instituição e indicaram dois lugares: O Instituto de Cegos do Paraná e uma outra organização que ajudava os animais. 

When my aunt got married, in 2007, her and her fiance had the whole house, so, instead of a wedding gift, they asked the guests to donate to a institution and they recommended two places: the Paraná's Blind People Institution and another organization that helped animals.

Eu fui logo dando pitaco e falei pro meu pai que ele tinha que ajudar os animais! Mas aí ele me deu um corte que doeu na hora, mas depois que eu pensei direito, vi que ele estava certo. Ele disse algo assim: "Erika, você acha que os animais são mais importantes que as PESSOAS que Jesus criou?"

I was very quick to give my opinion and told my dad that he had to help the animals! But then he said something that kinda hurt, but after I thought a little, I saw that he was wrong. He said something like: "Erika, do you think the animals are more important than the PEOPLE that Jesus created?"

Hoje eu vejo que essa foi uma lição pra vida. Eu aprendi, naquele momento, que os seres humanos são mais importantes, mesmo que ás vezes não mereçam. E conforme o meu caminhar pelo mundo, ao ver a prostituição e pobreza nas Filipinas, a depressão no Japão, o aborto nos Estados Unidos, o problema de drogas em Belize, percebi que não tem nada mais importante que o ser humano. Nós somos a coroa da criação. 

Today I saw that it was a lesson for life. I learned, at that moment, that the human beings are more important, even if they don't deserve it. And as I wandered around the world, when I saw the prostitution and poverty in the Philippines, the depression in Japan, the abortion in the United States, the drug problem in Belize, I realized that there's nothing more important than the human being. We are the crown of creation.

Tem gente que trata animal como pessoa e trata as pessoas como animais. De que vale lutar contra testes em animais (que eu sou completamente contra!) e não se importar com o mendigo ali na rua? Sério, né. 

There's people who treat animals like people and treat the people like animals. What do you gain by fighting against animal testing (which I am absolutely against!) and not caring about the homeless there in the street? Seriously!
