Redeeming Love (Amor de Redenção) by Francine Rivers

Hoje eu vim aqui pra recomendar mais um livro! Como se ainda não bastasse a história ser maravilhosa, o livro também expõe os 'bastidores' de um assunto que eu me interesso muito: a prostituição. O nome do livro é Redeeming Love, escrito por Francine Rivers. Pelo que eu pesquisei aqui, o nome em português é Amor de Redenção.
Today I came here to recommend another book! The story is wonderful, but the book also exposes the 'backstage' of a subject that I am very interested in: prostitution. The name of the book is Redeeming Love, written by Francine Rivers.

Basicamente, é uma 'releitura' do livro de Oséias, na Bíblia, que para quem não sabe, é a história de um profeta que sob o mandamento de Deus, casou-se com uma prostituta. Ela não foi fiel a ele, e fugiu diversas vezes, mas o profeta teve que passar por tudo isso para ilustrar o relacionamento de Deus com o povo de Israel (que vivia se voltando para outros deuses).

Basically, it is a 'rereading' of the book of Hosea, from the Bible. For those who do not know, it tells the story of a prophet who had to get married to a prostitute because God told him to do so. She wasn't faithful to him and ran away many times, but the prophet had to go through all of this to illustrate God's relationship with the Israeli people (that used to turn to other gods).

Nessa história, Deus manda que Michael case-se com a prostituta Angel. Eles se casam, mas é preciso que Michael tenha muito amor e paciência para quebrar barreiras, paredes e paradigmas que ela tem sobre ela mesma. Como eu falei antes, o tema da prostituição me interessa muito e toda a questão de prostituição/cafetão/escravidão são de alguma forma expostas no livro. É incrível ver a dependência que as prostitutas têm nos cafetões, apesar de muitas vezes odiá-los. É incrível ver a batalha espiritual que se passa na mente de uma dessas mulheres que muitas vezes são as vítimas, mas que acham que o seu valor está exclusivamente no seu corpo.
In this story, God tells Michael to marry the prostitute Angel. They get married, but Michael needs to have lots of love and patience to breakthrough hardships, walls and thoughts she has about herself. As I spoke before, the prostitution theme makes me very interested and all this matter of prostitution/pimp/slavery are exposed on the book. It's incredible to see the dependance that the prostitutes have over the pimps, even though they usually hate them. It's incredible to see the spiritual warfare that goes inside those women's minds that are usually the victims, but they think their value is exclusively on their bodies.

É uma história sobre o amor, sobre o amor de Deus que nos perdoa, nos aceita e se mantém fiel não importa quantas vezes a gente tenha falhado no passado, presente ou futuro.
It's a love story, about God's love that forgives us, accepts us and remains faithful no matter how many times we have failed in the past, present or future.

Como eu já falei aqui, leia algo que edifique a sua vida! Mesmo que seja ficção! Os livros da Francine Rivers são histórias de altíssima qualidade!
